Advancing Surgical Education: Highlights from iSPIES at IRCAD North America

07-Jan-2026

In mid-October, Endoscopy’s Medical Education team hosted two immersive iSPIES events at IRCAD’s state-of-the-art new lab facilities in Charlotte. Throughout both programs, more than 100 healthcare professionals came together to deepen their expertise, collaborate with peers, and gain hands-on experience with key technologies across Stryker’s portfolio.

iSPIES: Minimally Invasive Surgery

Surgeons representing general, bariatric, colorectal, HPB, and pediatric specialties engaged in a full day of didactic and hands-on sessions, focused on the value and clinical impact of Stryker’s fluorescence technology.

The event opened with presentations from our esteemed faculty members, each sharing how they integrate the 1788 camera system and SPY-PHI into their practice. A dedicated pediatric panel, featuring leading experts, provided additional perspective on best practices and emerging trends within the pediatric space.

In the afternoon, attendees transitioned to a hands-on lab. Under faculty guidance, participants gained practical experience with Stryker’s products translating the morning’s insights into real-time application.

iSPIES: Breast and Plastics

In the same week healthcare professionals joined us at IRCAD for our iSPIES: Breast and Plastics program. The day began with faculty members showcasing how they leverage our Breast Care portfolio in their practices. Through surgical footage, case studies, and peer-reviewed research, attendees explored techniques that enhance patient outcomes.

Following lunch, participants observed a fluorescence lymphatic mapping procedure using the SPY-PHI, offering a real-time demonstration of the technology’s clinical utility. The experience continued with a hands-on lab, where attendees practiced with the complete Breast Care portfolio.
