Life is built from small moments—coffee before sunrise, sideline cheers, a hand squeezed at the right time. Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) can happen to anyone, anywhere, interrupting those moments without warning. Our latest video shows us what’s worth protecting and how being prepared can help. We hope it sparks conversations about readiness in your home, school, workplace and community, and encourages simple steps to be better prepared for cardiac emergencies.
At Stryker, we understand that being prepared is a community effort. Awareness, education and access to automated external defibrillators (AEDs) can help more people respond in the first moments, when every second matters. This video reminds us that anyone can play a role—from bystanders who call for help, to first responders and clinical teams who continue care.
It’s not just about SCA. It’s about savoring everyday moments and once-in-a-lifetime milestones with the people we love, and doing what we can to help more of them happen. It’s about keeping the picture whole and celebrating those who are still here, building new memories after the unthinkable.
We support that readiness through innovation, training and advocacy. Our aim is to help more people stay here—still here—with the ones who love them.
An AED program is a critical link in the chain of survival of a sudden cardiac arrest, empowering you to deliver lifesaving intervention before first responders arrive. With more than a million AEDs deployed globally, Stryker offers diverse options and deep expertise to help you choose the right device and cost-effectively manage your community AED program.

Learn moreMark, who has had atrial fibrillation (Afib) since 2009, began to feel unwell and had difficulty breathing after lunch. Once Mark became unresponsive, coworkers began chest compressions and used an AED they installed just three weeks prior. The presence of this device on-site helped saved Mark's life.
Learn moreThe LIFEPAK CR2 AED response system empowers bystanders to help save lives. Innovative, easy-to-operate technology allows continuous CPR and helps streamline communication across the system of care.
Learn moreAED users should be trained in CPR and in the use of the AED. AEDs which are for public use/trained users can also be used by professional users. AEDs are indicated for use on adults and children. Some AEDs may be used on children 1-8 years of age weighing less than 25 kg (55 lbs) but some models require separate defibrillation electrodes.
