Ambulance equipment that supports
patients – and EMTs

Paramedic Robin Garner cares about people. In her job with the Department of Emergency Medical Services in rural Rockingham County, North Carolina, she sees them at their most vulnerable. She has to think on her feet and quickly assess the medical problem at hand, which is often different from what the call to 911 has indicated.

Her main task is to stabilize the patient for transport to the hospital. Robin says that Stryker’s Power-PRO XT powered ambulance cot makes patients feel more secure because of its smooth, quiet action. And she reports that it has made her job easier, noting that “the hydraulic lift does all the work” by minimizing lifting and stretching.

She should know — Robin credits the Power-Pro XT with enabling her to stay on the job until the final two weeks of her first pregnancy. Now Robin is expecting her second baby, and her goal is to work right up to her due date, with more than a little help from Stryker.
