Styker CMF Academy

Event description: This course is an online tutor group series designed by maxillofacial surgeons for maxillofacial surgeons, and more specifically for senior residents interested in debating fundamental approaches and techniques in maxillofacial surgery. This virtual academy is designed to give a close-knit tutor group style of learning, where residents are encouraged to take part in discussion with faculty and present their own cases. The objectives are to understand the decision making related to specific maxillofacial procedures, discuss the concept of maxillofacial surgery and the options for surgical techniques. The aim is also to increase your confidence with identifying operative anatomy from discussions.

Cadaveric Lab: Leading practices in orthognatic surgery

Date: 1st-3rd November, 2021

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Event description: This hands-on cadaveric course is supported by 3D Systems to teach participants on the core basic concepts of orthognathic surgery. Participants will have the opportunity to work on fresh frozen cadaveric specimens with the support of an expert faculty from across Europe. This two-day fresh frozen cadaveric lab will focus on surgical access techniques and treatment. The course is delivered using a combination of small group discussions, cases, and hands-on work on human anatomical specimens. Patient cases and outcomes will be discussed openly with faculty and participants are encouraged to actively participate in these discussions. This course is developed to optimize the trainees time at the cadaver.

Cadaveric Lab: Surgical Approaches and Techniques in CMF Trauma

Date: 22nd-24th November, 2022

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Event description: This is an advanced fresh frozen cadaver course featuring pre-fractued, pre-scanned specimens. The course is aimed at senior trainees and newly appointed consultants in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialized in treatment of panfacial trauma. The following topics will be discussed during this course: Operative Sequencing of Panfacial Trauma, Airway management / exposure / intermaxillary fixation, Access to Upper Facial Skeleton / Access to Orbits and Midface, VSP for facial trauma, Access to mandible/ orbital navigation
