Michael Liebensteiner, born in 1978 lives and works in Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria. His interest is the knee joint in general, reaching from sports procedures to revision arthroplasty.

After studying Medicine and Sports Sciences at the University, he finished his surgical training in 2012. He then worked as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Scientist at the Dept. for Orthopaedic Surgery. Michael Liebensteiner received the title of Associate Professor for Orthopaedic Surgery in 2016. He so far contributed about 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Most of those publications deal with questions from the field of knee surgery.
