Urgent Product Defect Correction: LIFEPAK® CR2 AED

01-Apr-2021

LIFEPAK® CR2 defibrillators are automated external defibrillators (AEDs) used in cases of life-threatening irregular heartbeat that leads to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Defibrillators like the LIFEPAK® CR2, are simple and intuitive devices that allow bystanders to respond to SCA, by applying a shock to stop the irregular heartbeat, allowing the heart to re-establish an effective rhythm.

The LIFEPAK® CR2 AED has a lid which usually automatically powers on and off the device as it is opened and closed.

In the event the device does not power on/off upon opening/closing the lid, the user can still use the manual power button to turn the device on and off.

Supplemental Instructions detailing Troubleshooting steps have been distributed to all owners of a LIFEPAK® CR2 device. For a copy of these Supplemental Instructions, please email postmarketssp@stryker.com or download online here.

Stryker, in consultation with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (AUS) & Medsafe (NZ), have initiated a corrective action.
