About Brian McCrone, MBA, VP

Brian began his role as Vice President of Performance Solutions in March 2016. He was one of the original, founding members to conceptualize the strategy of Performance Solutions and then formally launch the business in 2011. Since the inception of the business, Brian has been instrumental in laying the foundation for the future, while developing new offerings to enhance and complement the overall portfolio of services. Brian can also be credited with leading and executing the key acquisitions of Marshall | Steele and Comprehensive Care Solutions, which have proved to be pivotal in growing the business into what it is today. With more than 15 years of experience, Brian has a long track record of success at Stryker. Prior to joining Performance Solutions, he held the position of Director of Finance for the Joint Replacement Division and has also fulfilled roles in management, finance, business development and marketing. Before joining Stryker, Brian held positions with Pearson Learning Group and Dun & Bradstreet. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Seton Hall University.

About Paul Jawin, JD

Paul brings more than 30 years of legal, business, financial and capital markets experience to his role in developing physician alignment and payment reform programs. A co-founder of Comprehensive Care Solutions—acquired by Stryker in 2012—he has helped physician organizations and health systems align and turn reform into opportunity by utilizing new payment and delivery structures, including Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) and bundled payments.

Paul is a regular speaker at industry conferences and events, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Hospital-Physician Alignment Symposium. He co-founded and served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Secured Independence, Inc., and has held senior executive positions with public and private companies involved in real estate and senior housing. Paul has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Ithaca College, and practiced corporate, securities and real estate law in New York City for more than 10 years after graduating from Syracuse University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree.

About David Steele, MD, MBA

With more than 15 years of experience in corporate healthcare, David oversees the Data Analytics/Performance Intelligence team who provide customers with outcomes data, analytics and benchmarking support on key clinical, operational and financial metrics.

Prior to joining Stryker, he spent eight years as the Vice President and Market Medical Officer for Humana, where he helped to lead the development of Humana’s Innovation Center, Pay-for-Performance initiatives, Centers of Excellence designations and musculoskeletal disease management strategy. Prior to Humana, he was Director of Healthcare Research for Gomez Advisors. David has an undergraduate degree from Princeton University, a Master of Business degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

About Dale Moore

Dale is the Senior Director of Sales, with more than 20 years of diverse healthcare experience. Dale joined Performance Solutions in January 2013 as a Client Executive Director and has continually demonstrated his commitment to building relationships and supporting his clients goals of improving long-term outcomes. Dale and his team identify solutions from the Performance Solutions portfolio that best fit the needs and challenges of individual hospital or physician customers.

Prior to joining Performance Solutions, Dale worked for Siemens Healthcare in its diagnostic imaging division. His roles have included Service Sales, National Accounts, Strategic Outsourcing and most recently, Account Executive in the Houston, TX area. His responsibilities included the negotiation of strategic agreements with many large IDNs and GPOs around the country. Dale has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from DeVry University.

About Anna Kroll

As Director of Marketing for Performance Solutions, Anna Kroll is responsible for establishing and implementing the marketing strategy and tactical marketing objectives for the division.

Anna brings to Performance Solutions a wealth of Medical Device and industry knowledge. Before joining Performance Solutions, Anna worked as VP of Marketing for Onkos Surgical, a Medical Device Start-up focused on Orthopedic Oncology. Prior to that she had the opportunity to run a foot and ankle start-up company where she was responsible for all company operations including HR, Marketing, R&D, Distribution and Quality and Regulatory.

As a former Stryker employee, Anna was instrumental in the marketing and launch of the Simplex with Tobramycin Bone Cement, the Triathlon Knee System, and HydroSet Bone Substitute. Anna has led multiple surgeon advisory panels and business development efforts in the areas of Orthobiologics and Infection Control. Anna has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

About David Rancourt

David serves as the Senior Director, Client Services and Delivery at Performance Solutions. In his role, David oversees Performance Solutions orthopedic convener business; one of the largest orthopedic conveners in the BPCI Advanced program, and the clinical and analytics teams that support Stryker’s Mako Program Analytics.

David is a Desert Storm Veteran and excelled as a Hospital Corpsman for the United States Navy, holding several leadership roles including clinic and practice management, and general surgery service line supervisor. David took his 9 plus years of Naval experience and translated it into a very successful orthopedic sales and leadership career since joining Stryker in 2006. David brings to Stryker his passion for people, both delivering a world class experience for Stryker’s customers and developing talented teams. Most recently David served as a Senior Director for SPS Sales. His team was instrumental in driving Stryker’s new convener business which propelled Stryker to a market leader in this space.

About Robyn McGann, BSN, MBA    

Robyn has over 20 years as a nurse executive with recent time spent as the COO of a large orthopedic surgical group. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from a variety of healthcare settings including hospital inpatient/outpatient specialty areas, ambulatory surgical centers, large physician multispecialty practices, home health care, and private practice billing and contracting. Robyn also has a background in geriatric population-based risk mitigation. This led to passionate involvement in CMS value based payment initiatives beginning in 2012 and her move to Stryker in 2013.

Robyn is a trusted subject matter expert in value-based payment legislation and is Stryker’s Compliance Officer for bundled payments. She managed large health system conveners across the country in BPCI Classic and was key to launching Stryker’s BPCI Classic convener in 2015. She used her knowledge to build the systems and tools to assist hospitals in Medicare’s Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) bundled payment program and continues to act in a consultant role for CJR clients today.

In BPCI Advanced, Robyn supports large physician groups, hospitals, and non-convener clients as lead consultant and is responsible for the operations and outcomes for Stryker’s BPCI Advanced convener in the Western United States.

About Jordan McInerney, MHA    

Jordan is a subject matter expert in bundled payment programs and value-based care strategies. He has spent more than a decade working in healthcare with a blend of experience in operations, strategic planning, business development and management consulting. After beginning his career in network management with Medicaid, Jordan spent five years in practice management leading the successful start-up and growth of a multi-provider Internal Medicine and Pediatrics practice.

Since joining Stryker in 2013, Jordan has led consulting engagements with hospitals and orthopedic surgeons on innovative payment reform strategies, such as co-management arrangements, bundled payment initiatives and accountable care organizations. Jordan was an architect of Stryker’s Convener offering in Medicare’s Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI) program and has managed a large portfolio of BPCI clients since its launch. He has also been a consultant to hospitals throughout the country on physician alignment strategies in Medicare’s Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) bundled payment program. Jordan is recognized as a collaborative and visionary leader with expertise in using data to deliver results in value-based care.

Jordan received a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a concentration in financial management and health informatics.

About Nick Jewell

Nick is an experienced healthcare executive with a special focus on the shift to value based medicine and bundled payments. He started working in the bundled payment space with Signature Medical Group implementing Medicare’s Bundled Payment for Care Improvement Initiative (BPCI).

Working for Signature, he became an expert in utilizing CMS claims analytics to drive changes in physician operations. Through the analysis of claims data, as well as building relationships with physicians and administrators, Nick assisted in transforming private physician practices to a successful bundled payment program. Nick also has extensive experience transforming post-acute providers to value-based partners and has led the design and implementation of a national post-acute network.

Nick earned his B.A. degree in Accounting from Lindenwood University.

About Christine Veal, MBA, MSN, RN    

Christine is an experienced healthcare leader with over fifteen years of hospital leadership and strategic expertise in service line development and project management. In her former role as Director of Innovation in Action she was responsible for implementing innovative ideas to provide excellent quality patient care and patient safety, with overall improved financial performance using LEAN methodology to decrease variation and streamline processes. Under her tenure as Director of Heart & Vascular Operations she was responsible for the development and operational oversight of the Cardiovascular Service Line, which included the launch of a Joint Commission certified Advanced Heart Failure program, which was also one of the first Bundled Payment programs for St. Vincent’s HealthCare, the first Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) program, the first AFIB Institute in northeast Florida, and successful achievement for Chest Pain Certification from the Society Chest Pain Centers.

Christine earned her MSN and MBA from Jacksonville University and earned her BSN from the University of North Florida. She has held several nursing leadership roles in multiple settings, from Clinical Resource Coordinator to Director of Nursing.

About Dana McKinniss    

Dana is a Senior Consultant on Stryker Performance Solutions’ Healthcare Economics team, serving as a strategic advisor on healthcare reform and bundled payment programs. Since joining Stryker in 2014, she has helped over 50 physician and hospital groups navigate the new value-based environment of healthcare. Prior to her role as a Senior Consultant on the Healthcare Economics team, Dana held account management and analytics roles within Stryker focused on improving outcomes and creating efficiencies within orthopedic service lines. Throughout her tenure at Stryker, Dana has established herself as a customer centric and relationship focused partner, collaborating with hospitals and surgeons on strategies to help improve quality and lower the cost of care.

Dana also created and actively manages the ongoing development of Performance Solutions’ Episode Performance Manager dashboard, ensuring Stryker continues to deliver a market leading claims analytics tool. Dana serves as Performance Solutions’ subject matter expert on the platform and continues to leverage her background in healthcare analytics and payment reform to support the ever-changing needs of Stryker’s clients.

About Patricia Budzak, MBA, MHMS

Patti is an accomplished healthcare professional with over 20 years of direct operational, consulting, sales, and payment reform experience. Patti’s career in healthcare started in the post-acute care world, when she began working as an Admissions and Marketing Director at a skilled nursing facility. Over the years she was promoted to regional, and then divisional positions, with responsibilities for patient management and the financial performance of large groupings of both free-standing and hospital based post-acute care programs, including skilled nursing, inpatient rehabilitation, and out-patient therapy services.

Patti then transitioned her focus to acute-care, and the world of musculoskeletal service line management. Over the years she has worked with numerous hospitals, healthcare systems, and ASCs across the country improving care delivery, creating operational efficiencies, growing market share, and optimizing the financial performance of their orthopedic programs. The majority of her experience is in implementing Centers of Excellence for total joint replacement, osteoporotic hip fracture, and outpatient joint programs. As a Senior Managing Consultant on Stryker’s Healthcare Economics Team, Patti’s combination of experience in acute orthopedic programs and post-acute care enable her to drive results in bundle payment and value-based care programs. She knows what providers need to do in order to be successful in the payment reform space, and she knows how to implement the strategies to achieve it.

About Daniel Mendoza    

Daniel is an established consultant, working over 19 years in various healthcare settings. Prior to joining Stryker, Daniel worked and managed several hospital departments where customer service and education set the stage for overall patient experience. His entrepreneurial spirit drove him to suggest creative organizational business strategy that lead to significant professional and personal growth.  Consequently, Daniel was asked to take the lead as Care Coordinator in Orthopedics for a large national healthcare organization.

In 2013 the opportunity to impact, participate and share knowledge on a larger scale brought him to Stryker Performance Solutions where he implemented orthopedic destination centers around the country. His passion for superior clinical outcomes and exceptional patient experience has driven him to participate in the move toward value-based payment. Today, Daniel focuses on Medicare bundled payment initiatives and strives to ensure that Stryker clients achieve superior quality goals while decreasing overall spend.

About Liz Manofsky

Liz has a strong background in healthcare analytics and account management, using data and her knowledge of the orthopedic industry to help physicians and hospitals drive efficiencies while improving their outcomes. For the past five years, she has worked with over 40 hospital based joint programs across the country. This allowed her to gain a solid understanding of how to successfully implement care redesign in orthopedics, interpret the data behind it, and communicate that data in an effective and actionable way.

Having worked with clients in BPCI Classic and CJR, Liz developed a keen interest in bundled payments and currently manages hospitals and physician practices in BPCI Advanced. Liz brings her passion for delivering excellent customer service combined with her background in analytics and care redesign to drive results for her clients.

About Rina Vertes, FSA, MAAA    

Rina has almost 30 years of experience working with health insurance companies, providers, and other health care vendors. Until 2011, Rina was the Chief Actuary of BCBSMA, where she worked extensively on the implementation of and risk management response to MA health care reform. She was appointed to serve on the 2006 Special Commission to Study the Impact of the Merged Individual and Small Group Markets. She co-led the development and implementation of the Alternative Quality Contract, a provider payment model incorporating risk adjusted global payment and performance based incentives, considered a prototype for recent ACO models. Most recently, Rina was the CFO of Minuteman Health, the only member-governed health plan in MA, where she was part of the leadership team that successfully developed and launched the plans in MA and NH. Rina was appointed by Governor Charlie Baker to serve on the Board of the Massachusetts Health Connector, the state based health insurance exchange.

As Stryker’s Senior Actuarial Consultant, Rina provides actuarial and strategic expertise to clients so that they can manage risk and strategically respond to CMS and private sector payment reform initiatives including Bundled Payments, ACOs, and other value based relationships.

About Fran Cercek, MBA

Fran has a strong background in healthcare data analysis and information systems—helping clients understand financial performance, identify trends, identify strengths and weaknesses, model new opportunities and assess payment reform impact. For the past five years, she has specialized in helping healthcare providers understand the financial impact of bundled payments, and developing analytics tools to support the ongoing management of these programs.

As Assistant Vice President of Finance for St. Anthony Hospitals, part of the 12-hospital Centura Health System in Denver Colorado, she was responsible for three acute facilities and multiple physician clinics—leading her team through the financial planning process for a 350-bed replacement hospital, a new 25-bed hospital and an Outpatient Mediplex. She also evaluated physician joint venture agreements, cardiac and orthopedic co-management arrangements, and has been responsible for all aspects of long range planning, revenue integrity, pricing, costing, and decision support databases for several large health systems in Ohio and Colorado. Fran has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Wright State University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Cincinnati.
