Three things to know about Stryker’s employee giving program

Our passionate employees are behind everything we do. They are driven to improve healthcare and are thoughtful about supporting communities in need. Learn more about Stryker’s employee giving program.

Stryker’s approach to community giving aims to advance healthcare, support education, improve environmental health and the quality of life for communities around the world. Our focus areas guide our giving and volunteerism decisions and help us create equity for citizens in need. As employees volunteer their time and talents on behalf of Stryker, they help amplify our efforts all over the world. Here’s how we support employees who are driven to positively impact people and our planet.

Three ways Stryker employees give back

1
Stryker's Impact, global giving and volunteerism platform
The power to ‘Impact’ through a giving and volunteerism program

Impact, our global employee giving and volunteerism platform, enables our employees to give back in their communities through the click of a button. As employees fill out their profiles, they receive customized volunteer options such as virtual, skills-based and in-person opportunities. In addition, when a disaster strikes anywhere across the globe, we can quickly assemble our employees to support relief efforts and get funds to the places that need it most.

We also align giving and volunteering opportunities to our DE&I strategies, with new opportunities highlighted year-round, including Black History Month, International Women’s Day, Asian American/Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Pride Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Military Appreciation Month and National Disability Employment Appreciation Month.

Match program multiplies employee donations

Employees can multiply their donations through Impact, allowing them to support nonprofits they are passionate about. Through our employee match we’re able to invest in our communities by recognizing causes that are important to our employees.

Employees can put their match dollars toward any nonprofit so we can make an even bigger impact. It also allows us to raise awareness and additional funds for signature partners, like Operation Smile, a medical service nonprofit that provides free surgeries, including cleft lip and palate repair. Since 2015, our employee giving campaign supporting Operation Smile has raised over $1.5 million, providing more than 6,500 life-changing surgeries to patients in need.

“The nonprofit that I like to support is Operation Smile, an organization that provides critically-needed surgical care in countries that don’t have access to care,” says Jessica Treat, IT senior program manager. “To know that my donation will be matched by Stryker makes me proud.”

Volunteer leave of absence (LOA)

Eligible employees* can request a volunteer leave of absense (LOA) one day per year. This LOA time is paid time spent by employees during their normal work schedule to volunteer their time to a qualifying organization.

“Over the years we have learned that our employees feel a great sense of responsibility to give back,” says Anita Mehta, director of social impact at Stryker. “We are excited to offer these benefits to employees so they can continue to support charitable organizations that align with their personal passions.”
