Spencer Stiles

President and Chief Operating Officer

Spencer Stiles became President and Chief Operating Officer in January 2026.

 

Spencer is responsible for the company’s global businesses, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions.

In his previous role as Group President, Orthopaedics, Spencer strengthened business performance in Joint Replacement and Trauma & Extremities while accelerating innovation through our Digital, Robotics, and Enabling Technologies organization. His leadership has also enhanced the operating model across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Canada and advanced Stryker’s enterprise M&A strategy. 

Spencer began his career with Stryker’s Endoscopy business in 1999 and previously had oversight of several global businesses throughout his tenure, including Instruments, Joint Replacement, Spine, Communications, Neurovascular, and Craniomaxillofacial.

Since 2019, Spencer has served on the Board of Directors of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA). He also served on the board of Chart Industries, Inc. from 2023 until its acquisition by Baker Hughes (NASDAQ: BKR) in 2026 and chaired the compensation committee during his tenure. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and an MBA from the University of Nebraska.
