The Gamma4 Hip Fracture Nailing System is a system of non-active implants intended to provide temporary stabilization for bones or bone fragments. It is indicated for the treatment of fractures in the intracapsular, trochanteric, subtrochanteric and shaft regions of the femur, including osteoporotic and osteopenic bone. The system includes Trochanteric, Intermediate and Long Nail options designed to accommodate anatomical variations in the femur through a range of neck-shaft angles, diameters, lengths and distal locking configurations.
The Gamma4 portfolio includes Trochanteric Nails, Intermediate Nails and Long Nails, providing multiple fixation options for different fracture patterns and anatomical requirements. The system is available with 120°, 125° and 130° Centrum-Collum-Diaphyseal (CCD) angles, a range of nail diameters and multiple nail lengths. Gamma4 nails are designed to be used with Lag Screws in the femoral head and Locking Screws or Advanced Locking Screws in the shaft. The system also offers an RC Lag Screw option, which is indicated for rotationally unstable fractures.
Gamma4 incorporates indication-specific instrumentation designed to support implant positioning and procedural efficiency. The system includes targeting arm options, a Targeting Sleeve, Precision Sleeve™, Anti-Rotation Clip, One Shot Device and dedicated distal targeting instruments. The One Shot Device may be used to predict Lag Screw positioning in both anterior-posterior and lateral views, while the targeting instruments are designed to assist with guided Lag Screw placement and distal locking. Gamma4 also utilizes a dedicated indication kit and organized tray layout containing the instruments required for the procedure.
Gamma4 offers several fixation options designed to address different clinical situations. If additional rotational stability and fixation performance is desired, the RC Lag Screw may be used as an option. The system also includes Advanced Locking Screws, which are designed to limit relative axial and angular movement between the nail and screw construct. According to the operative technique, these screws are designed to increase construct stability within unstable fracture patterns and/or poor bone quality conditions. They can be used in all round holes of the nails.
The Gamma4 Hip Fracture Nailing System is designed with a range of implant configurations intended to accommodate anatomical variation in the femur. The system offers multiple CCD angles, nail diameters and nail lengths, including Long Nails available from 240 mm to 480 mm in 20 mm increments. Gamma4 also includes Trochanteric, Intermediate and Long Nail designs with specific distal locking configurations. Pre-operative planning is supported through Gamma4 X-ray templates, which may assist surgeons in selecting an appropriately sized implant based on patient anatomy and fracture characteristics.
