Stryker Educates Golf Fans About Joint Health At The Sanford International

21-Sep-2018

The official joint replacement products of the PGA TOUR®, Stryker, makes its first appearance at the Sioux Falls tournament

Today, Stryker makes its first appearance at The Sanford International in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with a mission to educate golf fans about joint health, joint replacement and Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery – one of the latest advancements in orthopaedics. Open Friday through Sunday, The Mobility Zone® is an engaging destination for tournament-goers interested in speaking with local orthopaedic surgeons and anyone who simply wants to learn more about joint health.

Offering an onsite resource for questions about joint pain, Stryker has invited local orthopaedic surgeons to The Mobility Zone. Stryker encourages anyone who has joint pain, or has a loved one suffering from joint pain, to come by and talk to surgeons about potential treatment options.

Additionally, tournament-goers can visit The Mobility Zone to learn about Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery from surgeons who use the technology.

"We're delighted to bring joint health education to the Sioux Falls area," said Stuart Simpson, President, Stryker's Joint Replacement Division. "Offering total hip, total knee and partial knee applications, Mako is exciting technology for joint replacement. We're thrilled to talk with fans at The Mobility Zone about Mako Technology and joint health."

The Accuracy Challenge, a key feature of The Mobility Zone, is an engaging activity designed to give fans a greater understanding of joint replacement surgery and Stryker's Mako Technology.  Fans eager to take on the challenge will attempt to remove replica arthritic bones from our life-size model, named Art H. Ritis, and replace them with Stryker's hip and knee implants.

Fans are also invited to check out Stryker's 2-mile health walk at the course. The health walk's interactive signs provide joint health education and challenging golf trivia.

The Mobility Zone also offers the opportunity to support K9s For Warriors by purchasing the same hat that PGA TOUR professional, and longtime brand ambassador, Fred Funk wears. With each purchase, Stryker will make a donation to the organization, which finds, trains and matches service dogs with veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disability, traumatic brain injury or other military trauma as a result of military service post 9/11.
