Minimum System Requirements
Other factors must be taken into consideration when installing a PACS. In addition to the hardware you will be purchasing, it is critical your clinic has the proper infrastructure. Stryker recommends the following items to ensure your PACS network functions optimally.
Network Requirements
-
1 Public, Static IP address: Necessary for remote technical support, connecting satellite offices, off-site data storage, and backup.
-
Internet connection with business class DSL or better: (minimum bandwidth of 512 Kbps upload speed) Required to transmit large amounts of data between your location and Stryker Data centers for storage, backup, and archive restoration.
-
Category 5e—or greater—Ethernet cabling to viewing stations: Enhanced category 5 cable, commonly known as Cat 5e, is a cable designed for high signal integrity and supports Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet. Connecting your PACS viewing stations with Cat 5e cable provides greater bandwidth for transmission of large files and ensures superior connectivity.
Electrical Requirements
NEMA L5-30 Locking outlet for configurations requiring more than 2 servers: Stryker protects your hardware investment with a robust UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) that provides conditioned power and battery backup for your PACS servers.
Environmental requirements
Cooling: Servers and workstations need to be kept under 70° F: Stryker chooses the most robust equipment available, but the performance of high-end computing equipment will degrade if subject to extreme heat.
