Lower Extremity and Pelvis

Stryker Trauma products include a comprehensive array of intramedullary nails from external fixation to newly introduced locking plates and bone void fillers. Introduced in 1939 and based upon the longstanding partnership with Professor Gerhardt Kuentcher, Stryker intramedullary nails have been embraced by trauma and orthopaedic surgeons worldwide for treating a range of long bone fractures. Now Stryker has created a new-generation nailing system, the T2, combining the capabilities and potential benefits of diverse anatomic nails into a single, integrated surgical instrument platform for fixation of long bone fractures. This history of innovation has led to the introduction of HydroSet, an injectable calcium phosphate bone substitute indicated to fill bone voids or gaps of the skeletal system that uniquely offers significant wet-field properties while setting quickly and provisionally augmenting hardware. The Matta Pelvic System, designed in collaboration with Joel Matta, MD, has been a benchmark for the treatment of pelvic fractures.

More recently, the introduction of the AxSOS Locking Plate System offers highly contoured periarticular locking plates, as well as small, basic, and recon locking plates for the treatment of fractures. Recently added features of AxSOS include a highly-radiolucent targeting system that helps to provide surgeons with an exceptional view of the joint to aid in treatment.
