Lower Extremities

Stryker’s portfolio of Lower Trauma & Extremities products include a comprehensive array of intramedullary nails, external fixation, locking plates and bone substitutes.

In 1938, Dr. Raoul Hoffmann, of Geneva Switzerland devised a System that could treat fractures without reliance on open surgery, resulting in history's first fully-functional, mainstream External Fixator. Introduced in 1939 and based upon the longstanding partnership with Professor Gerhardt Kuentscher, Stryker intramedullary nails have been embraced by trauma and orthopaedic surgeons worldwide for treating a range of long bone fractures.
