Collagen Scaffold
Like all other multicellular organisms, the human body uses collagen fibers as the predominant building material for tissue and organs. The collagen fibers serve as the scaffold within which cells grow and mature. The collagen fibers that make up the TissueMend Soft Tissue Repair Matrix are not disrupted by artificial crosslinking. During TissueMend’s patented production process, all carbohydrate, lipid, and fat cells are removed from the implant’s collagen fibers. The acellular collagen fibers of the TissueMend Soft Tissue Repair Matrix are composed primarily of type I and type III collagen fibers.
