Esophageal Kit (EKIT)

Stryker’s EKIT is the first of its kind for advanced laparoscopic esophageal procedures. Our EKIT eliminates the need for passing a bougie through the esophagus in many situations, making procedures safer and less traumatic for the patient.

An 18 Fr. OG tube is combined with a 15cm-long balloon, which transforms into a rigid bougie at the desired location when inflated with saline. This eliminates the need for passing a standard bougie through the esophagus - and possibly tearing tissue.

The EKIT’s balloon is equipped with special fibers. When connected to the Stryker InfraVision IR Illuminator, these fibers emit infrared light, which is detected by Stryker’s high-definition 3-chip camera. Our illuminator offers brightness control and illuminates through 12mm of tissue.
