Stryker doesn’t have walls built around you. I see people that have started in R&D and end up in HR. You can move to a position where you fit, excel and enjoy. After working in my previous position for a year, I was able to move into another position filled with more challenges and opportunities to learn, grow and contribute. I make sure I get my work done right and do it efficiently so that I can have room to be a Big Sister in the community, travel and visit friends and family.
Working as a team really helps to understand others and get to know them. I came to Stryker not knowing anyone, but now I have made numerous friends. As we grow, we are gaining more employees who need training and assistance as they begin. I have been able and happy to help make them feel welcomed and a valuable part to our team.
I love to learn, and at the end of every day at work I can honestly say that I have learned something new or have learned how to do something better. I learn by asking questions and engaging in conversations about things that I may not have known. Having different perspectives when evaluating systems and processes is extremely valuable and necessary to improve and move forward. I have great resources to learn from, my coworkers!
I put myself in others’ shoes and I work to understand their point of view and how I would react or feel in the given situation. This shows in the quality of my work. I believe in doing the right thing and I’m not afraid to question practices that are already in place. This allows us to assess where we are and why, and where we can change things to improve quality in our work and our products. I love the big picture of what I do…I help make it possible for doctors to have quality medical products that can improve patients’ lives.
