X3 Bearing Technology - Hips
X3 is a material advancement in bearing technology. As a pioneer in wear-performance technologies, Stryker Orthopaedics has been dedicated to offering bearing surface improvements. Building upon the clinical success of Duration and Crossfire Polyethylene, Stryker developed an annealing process with three sequential irradiation/annealing steps to create the X3 technology.
Features & Benefits
Stryker’s X3 Bearing technology is a highly crosslinked polyethylene that offers:
- Structural fatigue strength better than conventional polyethylene1,2
- 97 percent wear reduction over conventional polyeythylene3; greater than first-generation highly-crosslinked polyethylene4
- Oxidation resistance similar to virgin polyethylene5,6
