What is the Gallup interview and why does Stryker use it The Gallup interview, a phone interview conducted by the Gallup Organization, is part of the interview process that Stryker uses to identify qualified candidates. Stryker and Gallup have partnered for many years in an effort to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the interview process, both from the candidate’s perspective as well as the Company’s perspective. The Gallup interview was created by the Gallup Organization by identifying Stryker’s top performers throughout the Company and determining their individual strengths to find consistencies and correlations. Gallup helped us identify what made the best employees successful and then took that information and applied it to the interview process. The interview operates under the idea of placing the right people in the right positions where their individual talents and strengths best match the role. These talents are considered alongside many other factors in the hiring decision including work experience, education and skills. Every company has its own work environment based on unique cultural aspects such as leadership, communication and decision style, organisational structure, team dynamics and measurement orientation. A candidate’s talents could be an excellent match to another company’s culture but may not work well in our culture. The Gallup interview helps us to understand each applicant’s fit to our work environment so that we can make the best choice for both the applicant and Stryker. |
